Collective Worship

At Slaley First School, pupils gather together in daily acts of worship in a variety of different ways. This includes gathering as a whole school for ‘Collective Worship' or considering a specific 'Thought for the Day.'

Pupils are encouraged to respond through active involvement in worship and this includes listening, watching and joining in.

The themes covered within the acts of worship are unpacked at different levels, relevant for the different ages of our pupils. By focusing on specific themes, the children are encouraged to consider specific values such as kindness and responsibility.

Our local Vicar, (Vicar of St Mary's Church in Slaley Villlage) is regularly invited to enhance our worship.  Some of her visits may be linked to our current theme while others offer regular worship.
