World Book Day 2020

5th March 2020
 World Book Day 2020
Thursday, 5th March
Today we held our 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' World Book Day and the children looked absolutely amazing (as did the EYFS staff!).
A huge amount of effort and ingenuity had gone into costume ideas as ALL children were dressed as characters from books that they also brought to school with them to share with the rest of their class.
It's wonderful that books still engender so much excitement along with the joy of sharing a story.
The excitement continued to mount through the morning as the children discovered they were not able to enter the hall. In fact, they found a purple brick 'Wonka Factory Doorway' covered in gigantic sweets where the entrance should've been!
Mrs Seymour has absolutely blown us all away today with her limitless creativity. Each class was invited to lunch via a 'golden ticket' hidden (of course) within a Wonka Bar!
The dining hall looked amazing, like a scene from the film, with balloons in the shape of sweets and 'fizzy lifting' drink!
