Summer Fair

18th July 2019
SFS - FoSS Summer Fair
Today we managed to time our Summer Fair to fit in the 'window' of sunshine and it proved a tremendous success.  FoSS had put in hours of work to co-ordinate and prepare stalls, refreshments, games and an animal corner for families to enjoy.
Our School Council had their ever popular 'Candy Rush' stall, helped and supported by Miss McCall.
Alongside, was our very own 'Boutique' kindly run by siblings of pupils attending our school. They did a super job painting nails and applying tattoos!
Pupils from Class 2 led games under the watchful eye of Mrs. Julie.  This year there was also a Coconut Shy which proved very popular!
'Hook a Duck' was also a big draw, along with the Crafts Stall manned by Miss Brett.
In the 'Animal Corner' this year, we had two new visitors: Brahma Chickens (with feathered feet!) and a ferret. Folly & Copelia were back (the alpacas) as was Charlie (the beautiful Shetland pony). Thank you so much to all the owners who kindly brought them along.
Thank you to everybody who came along and supported the event.  Especial thanks needs to go to Emma for co-ordinating and rallying 'the troops'. She really did appear to be everywhere!! Currently, the amount raised is somewhere between £600-£700.
It has been an extremely successful year for Slaley First School and this is all down to super team work.
On behalf of all the staff, we wish you all a safe and happy summer break.
