'Hello' from Mrs Hayward

1st September 2021
Hello!

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am delighted to be able to write my first letter as the new Headteacher of Slaley First School and feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been chosen to continue to build upon the success already achieved under the leadership of Mrs. Brett.

I have a number of years’ experience in education, both in teaching and senior management and as a mother of three children myself, I am very much aware of the responsibility I have in ensuring the highest standards are achieved. I feel strongly that the needs of the children are considered paramount and firmly believe in providing a range of meaningful learning experiences, helping the children to flourish in a variety of ways.

I feel it is crucial to involve children and their families as partners in education and aim to continue to build a whole school community which thrives on mutual respect and positive relationships. As key educators in your children’s lives, I feel it is extremely important that you continue to have a voice and you can be assured that as your new Headteacher, I will strive to ensure that is the case.

Please do come up and introduce yourselves outside school – I will attempt to be around before each school day as much as possible.

I am looking forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks.

Kind Regards,

 A. L. Hayward

Mrs. Angela Hayward
