KS1 Trip to Raby Castle

4th July 2018
Raby Castle
Children in Key Stage One visited Raby Castle on Wednesday the 4th of July. They had a fabulous time going back 600 years and pretending to live in the middle ages. Children were placed in the stocks, given a bow and arrow and one child was knighted!
They had a fantastic tour of the castle and asked some really searching questions. It was a great trip to consolidate all their learning done in the classroom.
After a picnic lunch in the beautiful walled garden, we searched for micro habitats and searched for butterflies. The flowers and the trees were brilliant for identification purposes and the children enjoyed finding examples of the plants they had been learning about in the classroom.

We finished the day with an ice cream and a play in the adventure playground. The children said it was an ‘amazing’day.
