Harvest Festival
Slaley Methodist Church
On this very autumnal day, we took Nursery to Year 4 over to the Methodist Chapel for a harvest festival service led by Rev. D. Goodhall.
The chapel looked as beautiful and colourful as ever and the air was full of the sweet smell of flowers.
Many parents and grandparents took time out to join us and the church was full.
Rev. H. Savage led the final prayers and the children sang enthusiastically (with actions!).
Yet again, we were made to feel extremely welcome and at the heart of the community.
In the afternoon, the children in Class 2 delivered harvest gifts from Slaley First School to the residents of Parks Side Bungalows.
The residents said it was a lovely surprise to open the door and see a 'polite young child' holding a gift of food.
Thank you to all those people who made a kind donation and enabled us to do this again this year.
