Tuesday, 18th December
The children performed their Christmas nativity to a very appreciative audience this morning at St. Mary's Church in the village. This is the fourth time we have performed in our local church (including Harvest this year!) and, yet again, we have been made to feel extremely welcome by both Helen and David. Thank you!
All the children spoke clearly and sang with lots of enthusiasm.
This year, as it was the fiftieth anniversary of the Christingle initiative, we decided to perform Sheila Wilson's Christingle Rock! and raise money for The Children's Society.
In this way, we are all helping to give a child a Christmas free from sadness and fear. The kind of Christmas we take for granted.
We have also been busy at school creating our own Christingles. We will be taking these home to remind us of the important message it represents.
Thank you all for your very kind donations. We raised an amazing:
£248.38 for The Children's Society.
