A very special wedding!

A Wedding at St. Mary's Church
11.7.18

Key Stage 1 are attending a very special wedding today at St. Mary's Church in the village.
'Grannie Mainland' and 'Neilly Beag' are getting married!

The children have been studying the Katie Morag books this term and all their hard work has led to this very special occasion.

The wedding is taking place at 10:45am, so the children and staff are busy preparing button holes and making the final arrangements in an atmosphere of mounting excitement! They have come to school wearing their 'fancy' clothes and look amazing.

After the wedding, a Reception Lunch is being held at the school, prepared by Mrs. Seymour (complete with a two tier wedding cake!).

Of course, a Reception would not be complete without dancing and as Katie Morag is from Scotland, there will be Scottish Dancing in our school hall.

Making our way to the church.
The service took place in St. Mary's Church  and was carried out by Rev. Helen Savage.  Our very special 'volunteers' were Mr. & Mrs. Hayden.
Plenty of photographs were taken of the 'happy couple' and their guests in the beautiful grounds of the church.
Back at school, the 'happy couple' greeted their guests at their Wedding Reception, cut the cake and enjoyed speeches made by Archie and Sarah.  Advice was also given by other children with regards to a 'healthy and happy marriage'.
Thank you to everybody who made this occasion so special and memorable for us all.
